12 Volt Hub is operated by Lawson Services Pty Ltd (ABN 19 080 656 800), Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use our website, contact us or purchase from us.

We aim to handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles where applicable.

Information we collect

We may collect contact and delivery details; order and payment-confirmation information; vehicle, equipment and installation information you provide; account and communication preferences; support messages and supplied photographs; and device, browser, cookie, IP address, security and website-usage data.

Card information is processed by Shopify and authorised payment providers. We do not normally receive or store complete payment card numbers.

How and why we use information

We collect information directly from you, automatically through the website, and from providers involved in payment, security, delivery, analytics and support. We use it to fulfil orders, prepare customised products, provide advice, manage returns and warranties, communicate with customers, improve the store, prevent fraud, send permitted marketing and meet legal obligations.

Delivery partners and Australian suppliers

Where a product is dispatched directly from an Australian supplier or manufacturer, including selected Renogy products, we provide that supplier only with the information reasonably required to fulfil and support the order. This may include the customer’s name, delivery address, telephone number, email address, ordered product and delivery instructions.

The supplier may use this information to confirm availability, create shipping labels, provide tracking, deliver the order and assist with warranty or return handling. We do not authorise suppliers to use customer details for unrelated marketing.

Other disclosure

We may disclose necessary information to Shopify, payment providers, Australia Post, couriers, distributors, manufacturers, IT and cloud providers, analytics and marketing providers, professional advisers, insurers and authorities where authorised or required by law. We do not sell customer contact information or mailing lists.

Shopify and overseas processing

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify and some providers may process or store information outside Australia. Locations vary according to provider infrastructure and may be subject to different privacy laws.

Cookies and marketing

Cookies help operate the cart and checkout, remember preferences, prevent fraud and measure website and advertising performance. Restricting cookies may stop parts of the store from working. Marketing recipients can unsubscribe through the message link or by contacting us. We may still send order, safety and support communications.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No online system is completely secure. Information is retained only as reasonably required for operational, warranty, tax, legal and dispute-resolution purposes.

Access, correction and complaints

You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold. We may verify identity and may decline access where law permits. Send privacy complaints to us first so we can investigate and respond. Where the Privacy Act applies, you may also be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
