Shipping policy
Returns and Refund Policy
This policy applies to products purchased from 12 Volt Hub, operated by Lawson Services Pty Ltd.
Australian Consumer Law
Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
If a product has a major failure, you may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement. If a product has a minor failure, we may choose to repair the product, replace it or provide another appropriate remedy within a reasonable time.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
Before returning a product
Please contact us before returning any product:
Email: sales@12volthub.com.au
Phone: 1800 12V HUB (1800 128 482)
Please provide:
-
Your name and order number
-
A description of the issue
-
Photographs or video showing the product and the reported fault
-
Any relevant installation details
-
Photographs of the installation, wiring, connections and fuse protection where applicable
This information helps us assess the issue and provide the quickest appropriate solution.
Products must not be returned without contacting us first. We will provide return instructions where a return is required.
Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied products
Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives and contact us promptly if an item is damaged in transit, faulty or different from the product ordered.
We may need to inspect or test a product before determining the appropriate remedy. Where the product has a minor problem, we may repair it, replace it or otherwise remedy the problem within a reasonable time. Where the product has a major problem, the remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law will apply.
If a product is confirmed to have a fault covered by the Australian Consumer Law, 12 Volt Hub will reimburse reasonable return costs. Please retain your postage or freight receipts.
For large, heavy or installed products, contact us before removing or returning the product so that an appropriate assessment and return process can be arranged.
Change-of-mind purchases
12 Volt Hub does not offer refunds, exchanges or store credits where a customer:
-
Changes their mind
-
Orders the incorrect product, size, specification, colour, cable length or configuration
-
Finds the product cheaper elsewhere
-
No longer requires the product
-
Chooses a product that is unsuitable without first confirming its suitability with us
Please review product information and compatibility carefully before placing an order. If you are uncertain, contact us before purchasing and we will help identify the appropriate product.
This change-of-mind policy does not affect your rights where a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law.
Products that cannot be returned for change of mind
The following products cannot be returned because of a change of mind or an incorrect customer selection:
-
Cable, conduit, heat-shrink or other materials cut to a requested length
-
Custom-made, made-to-order or modified wiring looms
-
Vehicle-specific wiring looms and installation products
-
Products manufactured, terminated, programmed or configured to a customer’s requirements
-
Special-order products
-
Clearance products identified as final sale
-
Opened electrical or electronic products
-
Products that have been installed, connected, modified, damaged or used
These exclusions do not apply where the product is faulty, incorrectly supplied or otherwise covered by the Australian Consumer Law.
Product compatibility and installation
Customers are responsible for confirming product compatibility before purchase unless 12 Volt Hub has expressly confirmed suitability for the customer’s stated vehicle, equipment and intended application.
Electrical products must be installed and protected correctly and used within their published ratings. Warranty or consumer-guarantee coverage may not apply where a problem is caused by incorrect installation, incorrect wiring, inadequate fuse protection, overloading, misuse, unauthorised modification, accident or external damage.
We may request installation photographs, test results or an assessment by a suitably qualified technician when investigating an electrical or compatibility-related claim.
Supplier-direct and special-order products
Some products, including selected supplier-direct products, may be dispatched directly by the manufacturer or distributor.
Please contact 12 Volt Hub first regarding any fault, damage or return request. Do not return a product directly to the manufacturer or distributor unless we instruct you to do so.
Supplier assessment procedures may apply, but they do not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Return condition
Where a return is authorised, please include all supplied components, accessories and documentation and package the product securely to prevent damage in transit.
A product does not need to be in its original packaging when it is being returned because of a fault. However, proof of purchase may be required.
If an inspected product is found not to be faulty and the issue was caused by incorrect installation, misuse, modification or another excluded cause, reasonable inspection, collection and return-freight costs may apply. We will advise you of any proposed costs before proceeding.
Refunds
Approved refunds will ordinarily be returned to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on the bank or payment provider.
Original delivery charges and return costs are not refundable for an approved discretionary return, if one is expressly authorised by 12 Volt Hub. This does not apply where reimbursement is required under the Australian Consumer Law.
Order cancellations
Contact us immediately if you need to request an order cancellation.
An order may be cancelled before processing or dispatch at our discretion. An order cannot ordinarily be cancelled once:
-
It has been dispatched
-
Materials have been cut
-
A wiring loom or other made-to-order product has entered production
-
A special-order item has been ordered from the supplier
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law remain unaffected.
